Welcome/Fáilte

Welcome to the 2020 Galway Science & Technology Festival – where Curiosity meets Insight!

The Galway Science & Technology Festival is Ireland’s largest event promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)

The 2020 Galway Science & Technology Festival (GSTF) will run from the 8th – 20th November and this year the Festival will open with the fantastic one-day Exhibition at NUI Galway on Sunday 8th November to launch both the GSTF2020 and National Science Week in partnership with Science Foundation Ireland (SFI).

This year the Festival will once again thrill, inspire, educate and inform, whilst instilling a passion for STEM in all those that participate, of all ages.

The Festival continues to inspire young people to follow careers in science & technology and to spark the curiosity of everyone interested in the world around us.

Make sure to take part – find an event to spark the Scientist in you!

Take a stand at the GSTF Exhibition – Sunday 8th November @ NUI Galway

We invite both primary and secondary schools to take a stand at our annual Exhibition, due to take place on Sunday 8th  November at NUI Galway, and demonstrate to the public the STEM based activities you participate in school.

This is a fantastic opportunity for teachers and students to engage with the public and demonstrate the STEM-based school projects that take place in your classroom and raise the profile of your school.  Students remember the experience of taking part in the Exhibition as a highlight of their school days and thoroughly enjoy the experience.  If you would like to avail of some guidance and mentoring for building a stand, drop us an email  and we will arrange for a mentor to help your school : schools@galwayscience.ie

To see the fun and excitement that students and teachers had at our 2019 Exhibition check out our video!

Teacher Information

  • While we endeavour to meet all requests, the demand each year is phenomenal and therefore we operate on a first come first served basis.
  • Certain geographical considerations may have to be taken into account and we encourage small schools to come together and arrange a shared venue with other local schools and we may then be able to facilitate a workshop to visit your area.
  • Teachers must be in attendance with students at all times during the events.
