Welcome/Fáilte

Welcome to the 2020 Galway Science & Technology Festival – where curiosity is born!

The Galway Science & Technology Festival is Europe’s largest event for the education of children – promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)

The 2020 Galway Science & Technology Festival (GSTF) will be a virtual event, but we endeavour to capture the fun and excitement of previous festivals but albeit in a virtual world.  We will aim to educate, inspire and motivate our audience to be curious about the world around us and nurture an interest in STEM from an early age.

The Festival will run from the 8th – 22nd November and this year we plan on offering all primary schools in Galway city and county the opportunity to participate.  We will focus on TY students during this Festival, with Career Stories by local engineers and scientists and workshops teaching students how to code and learning about outer space.

Our one day wonder Exhibition at NUI Galway will be encapsulated into a fabulous online production that will bring you all your favourites including Bubble Magic by Sue McGrath, Bug Doctor and his amazing snakes and spikers, Cell Explorers, Exploration of Space by the Killaloe Exploration Dome and many more.

This year the Festival will once again thrill, inspire, educate and inform, whilst instilling a passion for STEM in all those that participate, of all ages and to spark the curiosity of everyone’s  interest in the world around us.

Make sure to take part – find an event to spark the Scientist/Engineer in you!
