Tech4Moms in an initiative that focuses on building a friendly environment and support community for adult
women with an interest in learning about technology, from themost basic level to the more advanced. This programme is aimed at 25+ years old women with little or no knowledge of communications technology but who would like to give it a try. It is particularly suited to women who have left the workforce after becoming moms but now have an interest in becoming aware or proficient in the new web technologies.
Tech4Moms have organised a series of four weekly workshops on the topics of social media, computer gaming, security, and blogging commencing on November 16th as part of the Galway Science and Technology Festival programme. Each workshop will consist of an introductory talk on the experiences of a female working in a high tech sector followed by hands-on activities where participants can get to learn how technology works in practice.
