An Ocean of Opportunities at the Marine Institute Open Day 2016

The Marine Institute, Ireland’s national agency for marine research, technology, development and innovation, is set to open its doors for its annual Transition Year Open Day on Wednesday, 23rd November, 2016 from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

The Open Day is for all, from transition year students, teachers as well as leaving certificate students and parents. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the state of the art facilities on offer in the Marine Institute in Oranmore and to meet with researchers and scientists and hear about their careers in the Marine.  They will get to see the innovative work of the Marine Institute through a series of interactive exhibitions including seabed mapping, research vessel operations and oceanography, as well fisheries and the marine environment.

Time: The visit will last about 1hr 30 minutes and can be booked in the following time slots on a first come first served basis 10:00 – 11:30; 11:45 -13:15; 13:30 – 15:00
