‘Ape Run’ Virtual Treasure Hunt

As part of the Galway Science & Technology Festival, the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics at the National University of Ireland,Galway is organising an ‘Ape Run’ virtual treasure hunt to raise funds for the Brothers of Charity Services Galway. The run takes place in Galwayon 27th November and the aim is to highlight how technological innovations can be used to benefit not-for-profit businesses.

Before and during the run, members of the public are encouraged to drop pledges onto an online map of Galway. Runners then locate these virtual pledges in the real world by using their mobile phones and collect them by running to their location. After the event, we ask pledgers to donate the amount collected to the Brothers of Charity Services Galway via www.mycharity.ie.

We are currently looking for individuals who would be interested in taking part in the run. The runner who collects the most pledges will win a multi-function printer for their nominated school. We would also like to encourage people to start adding pledges to our map of Galway(http://aperun.brothersofcharity.ie).
